From bedframes to wall art, metal has slowly begun to catch up with tasteful woods as one of the most popular categories of furniture and design accessories for the home. It’s durable. It’s easy to weld or bend into interesting shapes. And it’s got that modern-industrial, funky coffeehouse vibe going. With products available in a variety of finishes – from dark wrought iron to brassy gold to stainless steel or burnished bronze – the latest trend is to combine multiple metallic finishes to create a contemporary statement. As a result, metallic home decor is popping up everywhere, regardless of the season. Here are a few of the accessories that caught our eye, available from local retailers.

Geometric stool $210, Panache

Two-tier serving tray $87, Et Cetera

Roost constellation lanterns, large $98; small $76, The Nat Antiques & Collectibles

Metal globe $115, Neon Moon
