Everything old is new again, and the return of cross-body saddle bags on local shoulders proves the adage true. Popular in the late 1970s and early ’80s, these throwbacks are back in fashion again, replacing last year’s bucket bag as the must-have of the season. Featuring a long shoulder strap, stylish flap covering, and round bottom, these minimalist leather purses pair perfectly with everything from a fall blazer to a casual maxi dress. While most are smaller in scale and require a less-is-more approach – you won’t fit the kitchen sink in here like you might with some handbags – we found delightful designs in a variety of colors and sizes. Grab this must-have handbag before the trend gallops away.
