Open for 19 months, family owned Gooney's has settled nicely in the old Marizon building on Polk Street. With Asian classics and a fusion menu based on family recipes influenced by 30 years of living in the Panhandle, you’ll find a few unexpected offerings at the downtown eatery.

The Maya Bay Shrimp, a sweet and savory blend of curry, spice and coconut milk, is just one of the unique grill items. And guests can enjoy a roster of specials every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening. With plans to expand the store front and the bar area, Gooney’s promises to be a casual place for diners to satisfy their cravings – especially those late-night yearnings after an evening on the town.

Gooney's 705 S. Polk St., 367.9585

Open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., and Saturday 5 p.m. to 3 a.m.
